Usually, a highly sensitive person feels any manifestation in the environment at a deeper level than most others. This category includes both elements of the environment, such as light and noise, for example, but also your own feelings, emotions, moods or social relationships.
Those who are highly sensitive notice the details more than other people, as well as have more empathy, observing the subtleties and depth around them. People with HSP are more sensitive to sensory stimulation, such as loud lights and loud noises, and tend to have a rich inner life. Most of this has been well demonstrated in studies where the brains of these people have been studied.
They also have what is called differential sensitivity. This means that they are more affected by their environment, either for better or for worse.
It is especially valid for children, but also for adults. Sensitive children who grow up in a hostile environment will be more affected than children who are not sensitive, and adults are more prone to depression if they do not live in an environment where they feel comfortable. However, HSPs who have grown up in a good and loving environment tend to feel good about themselves and have a happy life.

Approximately 20% of people on the planet are highly sensitive
