If you are here, chances are you are an introvert, or at least suspecting you are.
And this can also mean one of these 2 things might be true:
– You think there is something wrong with you and need to be fixed.
– You are ok with who you are but you are facing some challenges while navigating in an extrovert world.
I am sure you will find many resources here about being an introvert and what this means, but you will not find out how to fix yourself. Because there is nothing to be fixed.
There are so many misconceptions about this personality trait, that we felt the need to create something different. A community and a set of resources to help us grow.
To notice and use the best parts of being an introverted person. A community there we accept who we are and make the best with what we are given.
So, how about we celebrate it?”
Keep on reading and you will find out the best 5 things about being an introvert, which will make you like yourself even more.
1. Great creativity
Introverts tend to be more comfortable spending time alone, which also gives them more time to focus inward and pay more attention to their thoughts and intuition. I think we are blessed with a lot of intuition, but not all of us listen to it often enough.
Being an introvert often means you are a problem-solver, because you constantly extract yourself from the agitation, detach and access your hidden reserves of talent and creativity.
Some of the greatest inventors were introverted, which allowed them to spend a lot of time reflecting and gaining insight on the problem they were trying to solve.
It gave them perseverance for longer periods, enough to finally find a solution.
2. Better health
What do we know about introverts?
They are more focused on their inner world, they tend to think more before they act, they prefer quiet environments.
How do all those translate in terms of lifestyle?
Most introverts are careful with how they spend their time, what they eat, what activities they choose. They understand and respect their needs. They find ways to unwind at the end of the day and get enough rest and sleep. They do not make impulsive decisions, which protects them from damaging habits or behaviours. All these can mean healthier lifestyle and, of course, better health.
So, if you are an introvert and you accept and respect it, chances are you handle your stress better, you have healthy habits that support you and you get enough rest and sleep whenever you need it.
3. Deeper relationships
Introverts make great friends and good romantic partners.
That’s because they are good listeners and they would rather have fewer friends but to connect with them on a deeper level. They can be there for their loved ones and offer support, without constantly trying to talk about themselves.
In romantic relationships, since they crave personal space to reflect and recharge, they have the ability to feel when the partners need this, too.
Since they do not share too much about themselves until they get to know a person better, they have a certain mystery which makes them very attractive.
4. They make very good leaders and team members
As a team member, and as a leader, an introvert will never try to steal or to get all the spotlight.
He/she will always recognise the contribution of each person and will never take the credit for somebody else’s work.
The people working with or under the supervision of an introverted leader will feel appreciated and this will make them more efficient and motivated.
The introverted leader listens to each team member and gets to know them very well. They have focused conversations and they learn the skills, strengths and weaknesses of each team member.
This is how they organise the team, by helping each member to be more efficient and happier at work.
5. You are more independent
This is also something to be proud of. You are able to take care of yourself, you are very aware of your needs and always find ways to tend to them.
You learn to be self-reliant and to not depend on others. This doesn’t mean you never need the help of others; it just means that you do not have a lot of expectations and in most situations you handle things alone.
Not having expectations from others keeps you away from disappointment. And, being independent and knowing that you can handle whatever life gives you is an important boost for your self-esteem.
We have listed just a few of the advantages, but I assure you, there are much more!
You should stop seeing introversion as an obstacle, and start noticing all the gifts it brings you. And whenever you think that you can not do this and that because you are not an extrovert, just remember some of the famous and successful people that are introverted as well.
